Ralph Nader has written an open letter to PM Stephen Harper regarding issues he felt should be brought forth in advance of the upcoming Canadian elections.

He seems very concerned about the concept of deep integration between the Canada and the US and feels Stephen Harper owes it to Canada to be more forthcoming about this.
While I agree with many of the points in the letter and am deriving many, many lulz from imagining Stephen Harper reading it (in my mind he's wearing that stupid baby-blue sweater, just to add to the lulz) I don't feel it is his place, as an American, to get involved in our politics like this. It's also insulting that he thinks the Canadian public doesn't already know this. I know Canadians come off as very lackadaisical bout our politics, and in comparison to the US we are, it does not mean we are not informed.
Even if there are some among us up here who did not know, I doubt very much this would change many minds. It would just give more motivation to those who are voting Liberal or NDP and those who are voting Conservative would trust that what is being done will be good for Canada.

My questions to you are, do you feel it is appropriate for a non-citizen to get involved in any way in a another country's democratic election in order to further their own political agenda and if voting in your own elections is there anything you can learn about the candidate's policies that would cause you to change your vote 3 days before the election?
