We once tried the ol' spray-em-with-water trick. The cat just sat there, yowling, as we repeatedly sprayed it in the face, and then forced his way through the tiny crack in the door.

He was a stubborn bastard.

When my oldest was a kitten I tried spray training her not to jump on the table. It would just make her angry and she would lunge at my ankles. I stopped that pretty quickly.
