Watched the series. Vancouver had been so strong at home I really thought they'd end up taking it. That second Boston goal really did drop my jaw. I've seen players get checked while charging for the net before, but never did I see a player whiff on a shot and have it still go in. That was something entirely new.

But yeah, I love hockey. As a Devils fan, I was more than a little bit let down by them not making the playoffs at all this time (John Maclean was a great player for the Devils, but playing and coaching seem to be two different skill sets not shared in his person).

Anyhoo, great game, great series. Was silently rooting for Boston, and glad they won, but not having a personal stake in the game I wouldn't have been broken up if they lost, and would have been happy just with a solidly played game, and I got that out of it either way. Feel a little bad Canada hasn't broken their streak yet.

It didn't look like it had been consciously punched in as seems to be the controversy. Pausing the footage reveals nothing damning (I must have gone over it about a dozen times in disbelief that it went in at all). It's too blurry.

You shouldn't get to use your entire body to get the puck in, Luongo was more concerned with the bodies coming at him than the puck. But then I'm just bitter, I really wanted that Cup back in Canada :(
