Dick Morris on Sean Hannity, 2/28/11:

We may at long last have a way to liberate our nation from the domination of those who should be our public servants but instead are frequently our union masters and free our politics from their financial power…What is at stake here really is freeing our schools so that we could keep good teachers and fire bad ones, freeing our state government so we don’t have high local taxes (and exactly how are those good teachers going to be paid?) and obliterating the financial power base of the Democratic Party.

The money quote is underlined above. This attack on collective bargaining is not about helping kids. It’s about establishing what amounts to a one-party system. Eliminate the power of unions and the G.O.P., with its corporate backing, gets to run things pretty much unopposed.

These people do not grasp the most basic principle of an open society – equal access to the political process as a voter and as a candidate.

No. Ordinary politicians pick a side and stay there.

Ah. Just like John Kerry was for Iraq before he was against it and TARP was not socialism when Bush did it but a bigger stimulus is when Obama does it.

I thought we were talking about ordinary politicians.

The Senior Senator from Massachusetts and the ex-Governor of Texas seem pretty ordinary politicians to me, as does the ex-Junior Senator of Illinois.

And they strike you as categorically similar to Dick Morris? Interesting. I guess we lost the comparison somewhere in all the wharrgarbl.

No, but then I already know Morris, like Huckabee and Palin (assuming she can actually keep a show going for any length of time) is more of a political celebrity than someone to be taken seriously. I'm actually referring to *politicians*.

See, Morris being inconsistent on what he actually believes is par for the course with politicians. His preferring to use Sean Hannity's show as a mouthpiece is equivalent to say, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid using Rachel Maddow's show for that. They don't do it because they're *politicians*. He does it because he's one of those people that likes to hear himself talk but is too ugly for show business.

So wait, I talked about Dick Morris as a slime-ball, you brought up "politicians", then you deny a similarity because Morris isn't a politician, and ...

Christ, talking to you is just a ball of yarn tied around a cat and thrown through a paper shredder.

Who said anything about inconsistency of belief? Morris is the most consistent man there is. We're not talking about belief.

What I don't get is how anyone anywhere takes Dick Morris seriously. Talk about the slimiest rat there is, going where his nose leads him to the cheese, whatever side it is on.
