Ok, so we all know illegal immigrants are taking our jobs. So if you are out of work an/or unemployed, here's your chance to take away a job from an illegal immigrant.

This is pure genius. The right should like this because it will allow all those wallowing in the generosity of unemployment to find jobs. The left should like it because it is a program of the Communist United Farm Workers Union.

So here is my question: Do you know anybody who has signed up? I would ask this group personally, but if you were a farm worker, you would not have time to read this community because you'd be working 12 hours a day without overtime and would not have wi-fi access.

I don't know if it could or not, but I have heard it bandied about. Iirc some sort of worker program was part of the discussion on immigration reform when Bush was Pres.

My reference to Az was to your comment of being a farm worker in the Az weather. Apropos of little, my f-i-l was a roofer in Tuscon for a few years, and they had interesting ways (and hours) to keep working in the summer. To show the differences of generations, when it gets "too" hot here (So Cal) we just quit. (In my defense, when I was (a lot) younger and still raising a family, I would just knock off for 2 or 3 hours, and then work late; but then I grew up poor)

Sounds like a lovely thought but I don't know anything about it, to be honest.

I was stranded in Southern California for five months one time and worked in a hotel. It was in Mojave, to be precise. The heat was brutal. I don't envy you there.

The wonderfulness of Southern Cal is you don't like the weather? A 2 hour drive will get you something different :D There are not a lot of places where you can surf one day and snowboard the next :D

P.S. I have been to Mojave once in my life, I'm not a big desert person ;)
