...The Don's parting gift to us before he leaves on the 20th is that it will be war with Iran.

So do we think "Hell Yeah" or "Facepalm"?

And if we all think "Facepalm" what does it say about our institutions being able to cope with folk taking advantage of them?

Iran has behaved, and still behaves, in accordance with a treaty that Trump tore up. Will the other treaty signatories come to Iran's aid?

Obviously not. Nevertheless war with Iran doesn't appear to be in any way justified; even given the Syrian situation.

Without convincing pretext any war will just leave Trump unable to leave America else the War Crimes chaps at The Hague will want a word. No more golf in exotic places for the Don then.

Would it matter much that the Don is spending time in a unusually confined space some time in the future, if his parting gift has served to ignite a world war?

"Getting us into an unwanted war" seems like as good a grounds to jail him as any other already on record. And if the global community already sees his future as including long jail time, they might let Washington City off that hook.

I hope.

That still doesn't answer the question if it'd matter much that he's in jail if the war is already on.

I've heard many sentences starting with "It'd be difficult to..." and containing "Trump" somewhere in the middle, only to end in Oops eventually.

For example:

It'd be hard for Trump to win re-election in 2024...

Darn! I did it!

I really wish the 25th Amendment would be invoked here; I would deal with President Pence for two weeks to avoid a hot war with Iran.

So hes going to ruin the most positive thing about his presidency, and reward the hawks from both parties who never have liked him?

Seems a little far fetched - especially if you believe him to be a vindictive narcissist.

Nah, he's the most beautiful and intelligent mind to ever sit in the Oval Office. He said it himself.

Now that they've stopped his Twitter, I do think he'll cook up a war to keep himself entertained or something.
