Once again, there is yet another movement to disassemble the United States government, one piece at a time. This time, it seems to be originating from the left instead of the right. It started out as a failed move in the ‘80s to create an emasculated and androgynous America with the E.R.A. The motivations this time seem to be much more sinister.

US Marines defend OWS Protesters.

"Once a Marine, always a Marine", the members of the world famous US Marine Corps will tell you.

When one US Marine saw what was happening on the OWS protests, with the US Police using mace on unarmed female protesters, it got too much for the man who had been up at the sharp end defending his country's feedom and it's citizens rights.

He organised, he spoke out and gave interviews on tape, saying why he and fellow marines organised to protect the protester from police brutality.

I think this is great. Politicians,media hacks and others who say that protesters are just a bunch of hippies need to take note of what is going on here.

Judge puts the kaibosh on drug testing TANF recipients. (TANF= Torture and Abuse of Needy Families)

“The governor and the Legislature sent their lawyers into court to advance a very startling proposition. They argued that some Floridians, namely poor families with children who qualify for temporary public assistance, are not protected by the Constitution of the United States,” stated ACLU of Florida Executive Director Howard Simon. “This extreme position – that if the state provides assistance to someone it can conduct a privacy-invading physical search – is especially startling coming from a Governor who campaigned to stop government from trampling on the rights of the people.”

Who knows how this will turn out if there is some endless appeal process or what-not. Or until some judge with an open palm gets the case. But for now, at least there is some modicum of sanity left in this country.

How to become pen pals with an actual 1 percenter!

OWS has developed a a rather clever way to reach out and touch the 1 percent: by encouraging people that have lost their homes, job and lives to connect directly to the investment banks and their executives by listing dozens of executives' contact information (all nicely divided up by the bank they work for and their job title but with E-mail addresses blocked out). The wording is clever and silly, and the design is most extremely professional and elegant (if you're into graphic design like I am). The strategy is a good one (because it humanizes what happened by direct contact). But why not do something more productive by writing Congress, or use this web site as a launch-pin for voter registration information? Meanwhile, the 3rd edition of The Occupied Wall Street Journal has been printed and and available online.
