So, this time the Kenyan-in-chief has hit the nail on the head, because his decision to light the White House facade in the rainbow colors in celebration of the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage, has got quite a few folks permanently situated at the wrong side of history reeling and rumbling, and waving their fists helpessly in the air and yelling at the clouds. Rainbow clouds, to be precise.

From ordinary bigots on the forums**, to more prominent political talking-heads*, lots of feathers have been ruffled, quite some foam has bubbled at the corners of some mouths, and lots of spittle has been tossed into Barack Hussein's general direction. And for a reason. This is a momentous change, and changes of this magnitude, as imminent as they might be, are bound to cause a shake-down. And I'm loving it. I'm loving the decision, the implications that it brings, and I'm particularly loving the head-assplosion that I'm witnessing on the right. Because these folks must be finally realizing that they've been wrong, and nobody likes being wrong.
* Case in point: Rev. Franklin Graham (who?) said that "This is outrageous - a real slap in the face to the millions of Americans who do not support same-sex marriage and whose voice is being ignored. God is the one who gave the rainbow, and it was associated with His judgment". Quite predictable, actually. The most ironical part is, guys like this one are going to be judged by the generations, and I'm not sure it'll be all rainbows and unicorns for them. But I digress.
Mike Huckabee took an opportunity to score some more points with his base, humbly pointing out, "If I become president, I just want to remind people... please don't complain if I were to put a Nativity scene out during Christmas, and say, 'You know, if it's my house I get to do with it what I wish despite what other people around the country may feel about it." But of course, Mike! We wouldn't expect you to put anything else on the White House. You've gotta fight the good fight against those waging a War on Christmas, after all! And what better way to do it than putting a Nativity scene. It stands to reason, Mike. Well done, Mike! You're a genius.
** In the meantime, more regular bloggers have argued that "The issue is, however, the consistently hypocritical, lying nature of our President", not missing to mention that Obama has been "evolving" on the issue of same-sex marriage throughout the years - which is apparently supposed to be a bad thing. Obviously, once someone has taken a stance and chosen a position, they shouldn't budge from it no matter what. Just stick to that positon, no matter if you realize you've been wrong. That's what good Christians would do, wouldn't they? Personal convictions should be like the Gospel: carved at the back of your skull, unchangeable, eternal, infallible - like the word of God itself! Despite all evidence that happens to contradict it.
I'm also loving the whining storm around the right-wing blogosphere. There's definitely an urgent need of a whaaambulance over there. Some nuggets to spice up your day:
"What better way for Obama to divide America even more? Push cultural-Marxism down America's throat!" Not sure what Marxism has to do with any of this, but yeah. The soundbite does sound epic, I'll have to give'm that.
"I wonder how many Americans are offended, and if Walmart will pull anything with rainbow colors from their shelves?" You'd be surprised, Joe Schmuck or whatever you call yourself.
"The one thing Jefferson was fearful of was the powers of the court, since the judges aren't elected and are there for life. Well here it is, they are legislating from the bench and making laws, rather than just defining them. Also isn't this superseding the power of the States? Also isn't a democracy supposed to be majority rule? Why wasn't a referendum held?" Because representative democracy is still obviously A-OK when it happens to make decisions that suit you. Same goes for the judicial system.
"The western civilization is simply doomed. Another nail in the coffin. I wouldn't be surprised if within [a] few years [the] powers that be try to legalise pedophilia. Neoliberals and [the] so called progressives are hell bent on completely destroying any moral guidance left and a complete eradication of family as a nucleus of the society. They [should?] know better. The US of A ceased to be [a] democracy long time ago. It's more like plutocracy. A corporate tyranny." Hell yeah it is. Where's the good Walmart when you need someone to fight the "bad" corporate tyranny of the communist Islamofascist Kenyan!?
And my personal favorite...
"It's not going to go on like this for too long, it will be stopped either by a major war or a natural catastrophe of some sort. People will be brought back to their senses... or at least the ones who survive will be. I mean how can the world exist without any structure and moral boundaries? Wouldn't everything just fall apart?"
It must be a dark world that these guys inhabit. Good thing many of them have already stuffed their underground bunkers with massive amounts of food, guns and essential survivalist paraphernalia. I suggest they either put their money where their mouth is and try "doing something" (and allow us to watch CNN to see how it unfolds), or be good patriotic Americans and pious God-fearing Christians, and burrow themselves down in wait for the incoming gay-induced Armageddon. Perhaps they'd help make the world a better place with their absence, huh?
But there's an alternative:
Behold, ISIS celebrates gay love...

...by tossing 4 gays from the roof of a building. I'm sure some of the above-cited would've loved to be part of that merry crowd, eh? So why not move to North Iraq? Looks like those ISIS guys are having a blast these days, what with direct democracy at the point of a gun, and all that neat utopian stuff. It's a win-win: we'll all know where exactly they stand, plus they'll have a chance to contribute to the acceleration of that coveted Armageddon they've been blabbering about.

And someone's being prominently bypassed (http://www.activistpost.com/2014/08/why-arent-isis-and-al-qaeda-attacking.html) by ISIS and Al-Qaeda attention. Wonder why that is?
/conspiracy hat off
As for all the gay-hating, the viciousness and desperation of this push-back (http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/bill-owens-caps-gay-marriage/2015/06/27/id/652541/) is as amazing as it is morbidly fascinating. Curiously, I haven't seen any rainbow flags being burned yet.
