So not only has a man who was a source in the story that broke this program eight years ago come forward, he's noted that the Government was spying on a then-state Senator who now has his residential address at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I do wonder if Obama was the only Democratic state senator the Government was spying on at the time. I also wonder whether or not the people who consider it a good thing to have the government illegally snooping would excuse it in this case, and how many people who approve of it in the name of security will consider the Feds spying on state senators to be justifiable in the name of security.

Personally, this kind of thing is why I think that the real issue all along was illegal spying on people. Nothing says that the government ever spies only on who it admits to spying on. Spies lie all the time. It's part of the business. There's sensible paranoia, and there's the 'Lizardmen are sending radio waves into my brain' variety. Sensible paranoia is to assume that people who snoop for a living never tell you the truth when they admit to who they're spying on. After all, you can bet their fellow intelligence agencies don't believe a word of it. I also think that this is just a sign of business as usual. The government has tended to spy on black people more continuously than it does on white people.

Why should I trust Russ Tice any more than I trust John Clapper?

I'm more comfortable with them "spying" on state senators than the general population, oddly enough.

So...It's been going on for years, and most of you chaps only worry about it when some black dude is in charge?

We're trying to have Edward Snowden extradited because he made public what everyone already knew.

Remember... if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't worry about the government spying on you, right? Or is the expectation that your government won't intrude on your privacy without a court's approval "lizardmen are in the White House" level paranoia?

What is his reasoning for coming public with it now? It would seem that if he was going to be a whistle blower 8 years ago, he wouldn't leave out those kind of juicy details.

I trust the NSA. They contract out their work to the most respectable computer hackers that money can buy.

I guess all the Democrats (http://www.policymic.com/articles/47059/nsa-prism-10-democrats-who-have-turned-on-obama-over-domestic-spying), progressives (http://www.inquisitr.com/812016/nancy-pelosi-booed-by-a-crowd-of-progressive-liberals-over-nsa-video/)and organizations (http://www.progressive.org/aclu-suit-against-nsa)against the NSA's program are all racists as well?

Seriously, if you are going to be a lapdog for the administration, get better material than the race card.

you're making less sense than usual. Those of us who have been against these practices since the beginning are still against them. The issue is all those republicans who had NO PROBLEM with any of this shit, and then suddenly, "THANKS, OBAMA!"

Material? You're the one who needs new material.

Thanks for your CONCERN, tho. It's nice to know that you're CONCERNED about it.

Again, we all know the Republicans are evil. Obama was supposed to be all Hope and Change, but he's just as bad or worse as the evil BushHitler was in regards to your privacy.

You sure are CONCERNED about covering for your team. Why?

It's funny that you think I'm on a team that I didn't vote for in either 2008 or 2012. Thanks for your CONCERN.
