I do not think that the Vatican has ever characterized in vitro fertilization as "immaculate." Anyone who has ever gone through the procedure will testify that it is not pretty.

I don't think they're using 'immaculate' in the meaning of 'clean' that you're ascribing to it.

I am not familiar with the doctrine. All that I know is that it applies not to the conception of Jesus, but to Mary. In any event, like papal infallibility, it is a relatively new invention.
