Crazy Conspiracy Month: Enviromentalists Secretly Hate Women, Gays, and Aborigines.

To me the choice is simple, we can prop up a cabal of brutal dictatorships that kill homosexuals, keep women as second class citizens, and don't care if they destroy the environment.
Or we can by our oil from Canada.
To be explicit, if you object to harvesting the Alberta oil sands you are an objectively misogynist, gay bashing, Gaia raping hypocrite.

U-ran-ium's the fuel to burn,
You'd think by now that we'd have learned!
Far better than that nasty oil,
Or coal, black plumes that rise and roil!
Plu-to-nium's a grand old sight,
So flammable, lights up the night!
Oh, fission, beats natural gas,
'Cause nuclear don't smell like ass!
Wind is great but it ain't everywhere,
Solar panels: costly to repair!
Hydro'lectric needs a big old dam,
Geothermal's viable in few lands!
Hy-dro-gen cells, they are years away,
Give me sweet, hot fission any day!
Fossil fu-els, they are for the weak,
(And we all know oil has hit its peak!)
U-ran-ium's the fuel to burn,
You'd think by now that we'd have learned!
Far better than that nasty oil,
Or coal, black plumes that rise and roil!

Your choice.

Oil is on its way out sooner or later. The price of solar keeps going down while the price of oil keeps going up. Once those two prices intersect, say good bye to big oil.

You still have a problem of machinery and cars that require gas, oil and diesel too. The problem goes further because while electricity can be fungible, mechanical power isn't. Unless cheap conversion kits come out for hydrogen combustion or for electric motors come out, we're going to be stuck with a major problem for a long time.
