Second amendment rights. But only for Christians and McCain voters.
This is really dumb, and I'd like to see everyone in this comm agree that the owner of this store is violating the law and discriminating unjustly. That is my view, if there is another view out there, please, share it with me.

I mean seriously dude: Consider for a moment what you seem to be defending.

Doctors should treat everyone. That doesn't mean we should create a legal obligation at odds with their right to free association.

AND you have the nerve to talk about "having principles"?!?!?!?!?
You dont even see the dissonance do you?

Date: 30/10/11 20:39 (UTC)It's wrong to tell people who they should associate with.
There's no dissonance there. There's the way people should act, and the way governments should act.

hat behind THAT horse?
and THEN in another thread you pretend you understand what it's like to be truly discriminated against???
Man, we're not even from the same planet you and I.

Date: 30/10/11 21:50 (UTC)How so? I have no interest in the government requiring discrimination.
and THEN in another thread you pretend you understand what it's like to be truly discriminated against???
Clearly, you've shadowed me through all thirty years of my life, and thus know every experience I've had. My apologies for not deferring my life history to some random dude on the internet.

As it should be, end of story.

I'll say it again - no one has the right to anyone else's goods or services. The private sphere is private for a reason, and to pretend that private transactions exist "in the public sphere" is a distortion of that process.

Date: 31/10/11 19:01 (UTC)You think its wrong to discriminate, but you're against using the rule of law to try and stop it. Reminding me of the Freedom of speech debate.
The law should at least attempt to keep people from killing each other. Preventing such discrimination keeps the peace.
(no subject)
Date: 31/10/11 21:09 (UTC)I don't see a right to shop in a private market in the Constitution the same way I see a right to speech in the Constitution. And the Constitution doesn't protect my freedom of speech from private interference, merely government interference - in the sense that the government may, in theory, offer a market, the government should not be able to discriminate the way a private market would.
The law should at least attempt to keep people from killing each other. Preventing such discrimination keeps the peace.
Discrimination is not murder, however.
