In other news recently Herman Cain has provided a very surprising fact about Caiphas, one-time Kohen Gadol of the Jewish people, and Pontius Pilate, the bloodthirsty, brutish Roman procurator:

http://joemygod.blogspot.com/2011/10/herman-cain-liberals-killed-jesus.html

They were liberals who killed Jesus because he was a compassionate conservative. Never mind that the Roman Empire of the time was an autocratic monarchy of living gods who controlled armies only insofar as none of the generals who rebelled won, never mind that this was 20 centuries ago, many centuries before either liberalism or conservatism existed. This is sad you see because he's unwilling to admit that his mind is roaming to all the wrong places.

In any event, now that we have definitively shown that this isn't just the guy who gets his economic models from video games, but who takes his politics religiously, I might ask people this: if Pontius Pilate was a liberal, what was Genghis Khan? For that matter, we should all hate that damned Commie statist Sargon of Akkad who ruined cities forever by creating empires. I for one envy such heroic conservatives as Ugg the caveman who clubbed a Neanderthal over the head and took his stuff.

Oh my, I think Herman Cain deserves a whole separate tag of his own!

You don't think the nonsense tag was enough? We need to specify the specific flavor of nonsense?

You said Caiphas and Cain in the same sentence, and omitted the required "HERO OF THE IMPERIUM" and regulation four (4) exclamation points. FOR SHAME

What I never understood about the crucifixion narrative was how the city rejoiced at his entrance and then the whole city wanted him dead a couple days later. That's some vicious politics right there.

I like crazy speculation. I think Palm Sunday signified a failed uprising and then subsequently they were found out by the authorities. There really is no other point to a grand and ecstatic entrance to Jerusalem if you were really just talking about kingdoms not of this world. Judas saw a way out, turned State's evidence.

Yep, I think this is right. The people, by and large, weren't greeting Jesus as a herald of the Kingdom of God, they were greeting him because they thought he came as a badass Zealot to lead the Jews in violently throwing off Roman rule to (re)establish a kingdom on earth.

Yeah, that worked out well.

The Jesus project suggests what got the ball rolling on Jesus (in terms of getting him into hot water and the religious leaders in Jersusalem to move against him) was the incident in the Temple, not the Palm Sunday entry into Jerusalem (never mind there seems to be a question of how many times Jesus "went up" to Jerusalem too)

That's a minor factual error that doesn't change the essence of what he's saying at all, a few K's down it is extremely hot (relative to the surface, and more importantly, the boiling point of water) and geothermal is a viable energy source. This is complete historical revisionism attempting to leverage peoples' faith in order to manipulate them to vote for him.

Let's review:

a) honest mistake that doesn't change the argument
b) deliberate misinformation to manipulate someone

Nice to know you think manipulating people is better than making an error.

Sorry, minor factual error is saying Pi is 3,140000 that's a minor error, unforgivable for scientist though.

When man can't afford to remember how many zeroes should be after the number, then it's just lame.

"Honest mistake?" Are you kidding? This man explain us how we should produce electricity? He can't even keep numbers in his head.. OMG

Are you kidding?

That's awesome!

I like the idea that corrupted powerful state -
(isn't that what Liberals doing raising the taxes and remove from citizents freedom to bear firearm) - was used to kill the man whose main idea was - all people are equal in rights?

I like the idea that liberalism is just never existed before it was formulated.

Thus according to you gravity shouldn't exist 20 centuries ago as well...
Since Isaac Newton was just invented it in 17th century.

Are you serious?

**Also, you clearly have no understanding of political science, or it's difference to real science.**
I know what does it means for liberals - put shit on your opponents, like liberals and Obama did with Tea Party.
Like media did with "irresponsible" republicans, not voting their way.
Like all they did with all even minor factual error of Michael Bachman / Bush ... whatever - put any Republican candidate here.

Now same with Herman Cain - "liberals" just put a stamps and shit on him, never-mind if he is right or not.

"if Pontius Pilate was a liberal"

From: [identity profile] zebra24.livejournal.com
He wasn't a liberal.

Liberal is a f*cked term, basically meaning is perverted and put upside-down.
During last century, especially in the USA.

Conservatives now is just a word that binds people to pure liberal ideology, not to perverted one.

Nowadays he will be just another "liberal" speaking just like that:
"In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic."

"I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. "

"UK Labour Party wants journalism licenses, will prohibit "journalism" by people who are "struck off" the register of licensed journalists"

Are they liberals at all?
Nope only they just called like that.

Are they liberals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeuGx8PplAo ??

Is she progressive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMjm4LxFa1c ?

The answer is - no, if you are talking about what real liberalism and progress is.

And answer is YES when we look, how liberal and progressive Obama and media supports those protesters.
