Friday Lulz - Comedy Nostalgia

I fondly remember the days when I would set aside a certain time to hit the couch and watch some of my favorite sketch comedy.  Tivo, DVD's, NetFlix, On Demand and online programming has made that unnecessary, but I still miss that time I set aside.  Then, the programs either disappeared or changed to a cast that was so bizarre that everybody lost interest.  Here are clips from a couple of my favorites:

My fave TV comedy is 'Allo, 'Allo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/'Allo_'Allo!). It's pure classic! And also I'm sure some of our history/military/British-humor junkies would enjoy it immensely.

Yes, that's the thing I hate about American tv comedies. The laughter. Cmon, can't I decide when to laugh that they'll have to nudge me? It's almost as if I have one of those blinking signs at home which says "Laugh here". Dumb.

focus groups have found comedy shows funnier if fake laughter is added to the show. not even kidding.

And of course there must be a measuring scale of funny-funnier-funniest somewhere out there that I'm unaware of. :-P

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if stations had a "funny metric" to rate shows on.

Exactly. Totally counterproductive, above all when the laughter is louder than the dialogues.

And when it occurs every 5 seconds. It tends to drop the value of genuine laughter.
