So FoxNews isn't coming to Canada after all because the CRTC requires that "a licenser may not broadcast....any false or misleading news."

I'm of two minds on this issue. First I'm against censorship. I like everything and all available and can turn the channel if I don't like. I think it's a slippery slope. Will John Stewart be next for his parody of news? What about Art Bell (or whatever it's called now) that has news on UFO's, conspiracy and other false news?

That said, a news channel purporting to be a straight news channel (fair and balanced even) that is anything but seems to cross a line.

Bias we can handle. CBC has bias, as does SunMedia. It's the lies and misinformation that seems to have been the main issue with broadcasting regulators.

Do they really fib on FoxNews? I can't say I've ever really watched it except for OReilly and whatever you guys link to.

Media is very powerful. Fox contributed much to report on WMD's in Iraq. Fox seems to be part responsible for the Tea Party movement and generally polarizing the USA along political/idelogical lines. I am much more nervous about Fox then AlJazeera.

Do you think the CRTC has gone too far? Do you think it was a fair call? What about RobKennedyJr's comments?
