The single largest casualty sustained by the United States in the War on Terror is the Right. Since the War on Terror began, the Right has become beholden to foreign corporate interests, and led about by the nose by Saudi and Australian agents. They have directly damaged strategic US interests abroad and at home. They lie dead on the battlefield. They have become the single most effective tool in increasing Arab and Muslim cynicism and mistrust of the United States. Their media and domestic policy antics have banished the thin veil of "helpful Americans spreading democracy to a freedom-loving people", and every Arab in Iraq or Pashtun in Afghanistan sees right through it.

Every minute of anti-Muslim sentiment on FOX News creates an unwilling and mistrustful populace who don't like the Taliban, but sure as hell ain't gonna throw in with local American forces- American forces who are themselves beholden to anti-Muslim zealots at home in the United States. Every second we argue about Muslims, Obama's faith, the Manhattan Islamic community center, is a second taken away from any chance for trust and alliance with Muslim communities abroad. The media antics of the Right have directly undermined the Presidents efforts to strengthen and revitalize strategic partnerships. Every pundit who cries "sensitivity" is killing troops and emboldening our enemies.

Not only has the Right become a casualty, they have become the single greatest strategic roadblock to success and victory.

Notice the nationwide call to aid the flooded people of Pakistan? Neither did I, although this would go further than a 100,000 troops to help us gain a social foothold there. Don't get me wrong, $70-80mil goes a long way, but where are the cries on the House floor for a comprehensive aid package? Yeah, they're Muslims, and nobody really believes that they're our allies, amirite?

I think its pretty funny sad how much we have basically done more to hurt ourselves than Al Qaeda could have ever hoped for. We've lost thousands of lives and billions of dollars in a couple pointless wars, we've inconvenienced ourselves and restricted freedom out of fear, and we've destroyed our standing in the world.

The terrorists won.

Barack Obama’s public meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu failed to impress Israeli Jews. After his attempted outreach, only 10% of Israeli Jews see Obama as pro-Israel… An improvement of 1%.

They're an "ally" we have to bribe with a couple billion $ annually so they don't sell high-tech weaponry to our enemies so I question the value of the relationship.

So what you're saying is that the efforts of the American Left to drive up cynicism and distrust towards America via rumor-mongering and overinflation of propaganda has paid off.

RIP Patriotic Intellectual Leftist Americans.

So for the last 30 years Democrats have only had the Presidency for 10 of them, but 10 years of Democratic rule have far surpassed the effectiveness and skill of 20 years of Republican rule? Am I supposed to be impressed by such an ineffectual ideology of incompetents?

2001 is rather too late to start the deadline for the Right being beholden to corporate interests.

I agree that the biggest hindrance to this War On An Emotion is that faction which started the fucking wars to start with. However the bigger problem is that by this point the US occupations have become the very thing we supposedly were fighting against and our "nation building" in Iraq and Afghanistan is on par with the talent of Leopold II's Congo.

Australian Agents

WTF???

Australia has been tagging along on the USA's coat tails in the war on foreigners sitting on strategic geological resources for most of the last decade.

The only thing we have a major difference on is that we restructured our economy 15 years ago and are thus not looking at economic meltdown.

Our choice in todays election is between a right wing coalition slightly to the right of the US Democrats and the Labor Party, or at least Labor's right factions, a party slightly to the right of the US Democrats.

I'm trying to think of anything Australia has in common with Saudi Arabia, apart from deserts and public distrust for the USA.

... the people on the Right tend to be. They were wrong when they wanted to continue relations as usual with King George and they are still wrong when they want to continue relations as usual with British financiers. If the Right truly wanted to fight terrorism, they would start with the man in the mirror.

Yes, because once people change their attitudes about the Muslim faith, the most extreme among them will suddenly change their mind about killing Americans or even Jews. Riiiigggghhhhtttt...
