Remember earlier this year when our august Supreme Court handed down its ruling in Citizens United v. FEC, a grand decision thanks to Conservative Justices who actually know how to interpret the constitution.....remember how that ilicited a slew of shrill responses from the likes of Keith Olbermann,Rachel Maddow, and other other Left-Wing Propagandists??......Olbermann even went as far as to compare it to the Dred Scott decision....we were told that this decision was supposed to lead to Corporate Tyranny choosing Corporate Candidates for us.......

And then on top of that, our socalled president even decided to show how classless he is and humiliated the Court during his SOTU because he did not like the decision and agreed with the MSNBC airheads....

Well, midterm primaries are over and midterm election season is underway.....where are the Corporate Manchurian Candidates that were supposed to take over??......where are the barrage of Corporate Ads?....it looks more like the candidates that got nominated would've goten nominated regardelss of Citizens United.... could it be that Olbermann and Maddow and their kin were lying?....

Once again we are shown that the Free Market knows best and only Tyranny we have to fear is the Tyranny of Big Government...and its propagandists like the primetime anchors on MSNBC....The Free Market....aw hell yeah!!!

So when will the Left apologize.....not only for smearing and slandering our fine Supreme Court....but for making light of slavery by comparing this decision to Dred Scott?

Yeah. The right taught us, unfortunately, how well that works.

It also seems fairly dumb to assume they would sink tons of money in midterm elections when, as he said, the public has pretty made its mind up AND the Congressional majority isn't changed.

In other words, sinking a lot of money wouldn't make much of a difference *at this point*.

The presidential election or when the Congressional majorities can definitively shift -- *That* is where you'll see it.

Pornstache is goofy if he thinks corporations will just run blitz campaigns year after year. But I mean really -- it's not like he's **ever** been wrong before, right??

where are the Corporate Manchurian Candidates that were supposed to take over??

What makes you think they haven't already taken over? The point that Maddow and Olberman have been trying to make is that the SCOTUS decision went the wrong way in correcting an *existing* problem. But of course you don't watch those shows, so how could you be expected to know what you are talking about?

We will probably apologize several millenia after the Conservatives apologize for the disastrous Bush administration. Oh, and about the comment: "Conservative Justices who actually know how to interpret the constitution", thanks for designating yourself more knowledgeable about the constitution than the former professor of constitutional law. Ya' know, the President.

Regarding the free market knowing best? I think we're seeing that in the Gulf of Mexico right now.

"Conservative Justices who actually know how to interpret the constitution"

Oh Steve, how hypocritical can you be? I'm assuming based upon your lack of critical thinking that you a "knee-jerk" conservative, and therefore a "strict-constructionist."

As a "strict-constructionist" tell me about the part of the Constitution that gives a corporation personhood. Don't strain you brain. It doesn't exist. It has evolved through a series of Supreme Court Decisions commencing with Dartmouth College v. Woodward in 1819, which recognized a Corporations right to contract.

I think that we both would agree that that is a necessity in the free market. But why should they be allowed to do that? It's not stated in the constitution.

Are you following me so far? Or should I go slower? Steve, if we are to have a strict construction of the Constitution, wouldn't Dartmouth College be an erroneous holding. Ergo, wouldn't The modern day Marx Brothers' (Chico Roberts, Zeppo Alitto, Groucho Scalia, Harpo Thomas and Gummo Kennedy) decision relying upon this case also be erroneous.

Furthermore, if we are to have strict construction, that presupposes that the Constitution is unambiguous on its face. Ergo, no need for interpretation.

You don't understand the Constitution, do you? It outlines the powers granted to government and even takes pains to declare that yes, everything else is a right of the people or the states.

So no, the government can't declare that "corporations" can't do things that are not in its list of enumerated powers.

Suck it.

... for writing the Constitution in the first place.

I'm so very thankful for the Hamiltonians who created a judiciary that will perpetuate English style despotism despite the Constitution. I agree that the Left has made light of slavery by futilely attempting to abolish it. Thank the material Creator of the flat and immobile earth for keeping slavery alive despite the self-serving attempts by leftists to make light of it. Viva the Klan!

stating that electoral politics hasn't changed much doesn't equate to electoral politics being fine and dandy. i want less corporate influence on electoral politics. there was a huge corporate influence before the ruling and there's the potential for an even larger one now, although since electoral politics were nearly saturated with corporate influence the addition of the ruling was marginal.
