Good Idea. I have cast my vote, and would like to add that the Green party in the UK has put forward policies that wiill not just address poverty in the UK, but throughout the world.

We are a Global Village, and Greens recognise this.
Women in our world are about 50% of the population, but earned 10% of the world's income, and own a mere 1% of it's property, the last time I looked at the figures.

UK Greens want to change this, and will work with other Green parties in other countries around the world to make it happen. Make no mistake, gender politics, womens empowerment and women's rights are a big factor in in ending world poverty - but there are other issues in play here, and Greens address those too.

As well as a global shift in women's status in society, we want to see changes in the way international trade is conducted between nations, as well as international legislation on finance and banking.

Iin the last century, the Labour Movement made vast changes to the lives of ordinary people by bringing in the Welfare State, regulations on health and safety in industry, and other important reforms.
In this century, I would like to predict that the Green Movement will be an equally powerful driving force for change and improvement.

I hereby declare this weeks topic to have been decided by a tyrannical group of 8! A mere 8 people can decide the fate of the entire community? Why, it's becoming more and more fascist by the day? I bet you by tomorrow they'll have a banner up that reads: "SOCIAL JUSTICE" and we all know those are just code words for "kill da jooze!"

Good topic.

The only reason I didn't vote for it is its too easy, too predictable and too one dimensional. [:

I voted for three topics and found out they were leading the race, in the order I wanted. I WON!

Ah. I was wondering why this community had turned into a liberal wankfest.

Carry on.
