Ted Cruz Targets Marriage Equality: SCOTUS Was ‘Clearly Wrong’
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz said plainly that he believes the Supreme Court should overturn the landmark decision that established marriage equality in all 50 states.
The junior senator from Texas apparently can’t wait. On his podcast, he told cohost Michael Knowles that Obergefell was now vulnerable.
“Obergefell, like Roe v. Wade, ignored two centuries of our nation’s history. Marriage was always an issue that was left to the states,” Cruz said. “We saw states before Obergefell that were moving. Some states were moving to allow gay marriage. Other states were moving to allow civil partnerships. There were different standards that the states were adopting and had the court not ruled in Obergefell, the democratic process would have continued to operate.”
Cuck Cruz and others of his Trumplicking ilk are a menace to equality, democracy, and equal representation under the law. They will not stop until their dreams of a theocratic state are realized. Folks should have let them have South Carolina when "Christian Exodus" was a thing, and exiled the lot of them to fend for themselves.
Yeah... I actually may want them to over turn all of it and watch what happens. I'm just curious, you know.
My bet? Nothing's going to happen when it's overturned. A few deplorables might whine and kvetch just as they did when the Supreme Court announced its recent ruling on Roe vs. Wade, but it will quickly die off and they'll naturally just fade into their continuing irrelevance and obscurity.
I'll be waiting ever so patiently from a distance to watch and catch a few laughs at the expense of the few deplorables in question when it happens though.
