Mitch McConnell Vows to Block Biden’s Entire Agenda Just to Be a Dick

Mitch McConnell stated; "100% of our focus is on stopping this new administration." Mitch McConnell did this when he made it clear that his top political agenda was to make sure that Barack Obama would be a one-term president. Mitch McConnell labeled himself as the 'grim reaper'. There's a clear distinction between Democrats and Republicans right now, a moment of clarity for everyone. Democrats are the party of getting things done and Republicans are the party of obstruction. Democrats believe in democracy, Republicans believe in autocracy. Democrats believe in 'building back better'. The American Rescue Plan, the American Jobs Plan, the American Families Plan and the Republicans are all about grievance and xenophobia.

Why would anyone clap this? The country needs infrastructure investment, the QOP isn't offering anything viable. It needs healthcare and public resource spending; the QOP isn't offering anything viable. Biden, for all his ills, has done a good job of governing for all states.

I think that interview with Soltis by Ezra Klein rings true. QOP voters overwhelmingly see democrats as bad people, want to elect someone who will fight against democrats, but then, hypocritically, say they want someone who will work with democrats to solve problems. The rabid incoherent and hypocritical view here is astounding, but what it speaks to is cake eating.

QOP voters don't want infrastructure fixed. They don't want healthcare fixed. They don't want anything fixed. In fact, governing isn't cool to them, just winning and fighting with the left/democrats/whoever the fuck else they call an enemy is what they want.

Trump's only big accomplishment in office was a massive tax break for filthy rich people. That's it. Nothing else measurable was done. And these people want to return to that; a society where big problems are expected to be fixed by individuals, not elected representatives, a society where the government takes no steps to ameliorate anyone, but leaves it all up to the individual citizenry.

A society, where as they claim, states have rights - but only insofar as those rights match up with conservative ideals.

This version of "conservatism" will destroy democracy and descend America into nativist, fascist governance.

"Nativist, fascist governance" is the goal.

Didn't the Don shun the Mitch already? I've been struggling to keep up with the dynamics of those love-hate relationships.

Well said. I'm with ya on healthcare. TBH I never really understood why our healthcare system was so bad, probably because I have a semi-retired doctor for a father. He worked for the government, and my and my family's health insurance was basically gratis because of him. We did have to pay for some things, but ya get my point. About 2 years ago a sister and I qualified for medicare. Ordering meds has become a real bitch, especially for her because she is on some meds that apparently aren't covered by part D or whatever they're calling it nowadays. Yesterday while at a sister and her husband's house for a Mother's Day/anniversary cookout, the topic of healthcare came up. So now I'm finally starting to wake up and smell the roses, lol. Why has life become so politicized? I think we have our answer!
