15/1/21 13:17'Never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake'
(That's only an approximate quote. I think napoleon said it, but it could have been machiavelli. Also very likely it came from one of the godfather movies. Trying out the whole no-search-engine thing. Corrections welcome, but no searchy search!)
I heard on the radio (the 20th century's 'I read on the internet') that President Trump's approval rating inside the GOP is 60, down 17 since new years. I think it was Gallup. Sounds Gallupy.
The GOP is about to have a very difficult decision on their hands. By GOP, I mean the old GOP (redundant but true). The folks who still call it the party of Reagan - not never trump, not always trump, but the reluctantly trump.
Lucky for them, the democrats are going to step in and save the day. Should they impeach him, or somehow take away his ability to run again - Republicans wont have to be the bad guy
Would the party eat itself if Democrats let it? Maybe, maybe not - but why stand in their way when it's at least a possibility? Not impeaching gives the better chance of him being a smaller thorn in their side, and a bigger thorn in McConnells.
Sure, none of this matters if trump is about to go to jail, but how long has trump been 'about to go to jail'?
How many times did Pelosi, or Schiff, or tapper, or maddow, or avenatti, or brennan, or anonymous-source-close-to-the-situation tell you the walls were closing in?
Now, how many times did the walls actually close in?
Zero. None. It never happened. It never was going to happen. It's never going to be 'Mueller time!'. Denying this, choosing party leaders who deny this - and the democrats will be missing out on a yuge opportunity.

As yet I don't think the Don has made anyone eat his own nose though.
