I'm curious as to what others are doing to prepare for what's coming. We're far from seeing the worse of this yet. I know that many have been stockpiling food and other non-perishables but I want to know what steps others are taking to help prevent the spread of this virus.

Here's my advice. Make a plan, a long-term one, for yourself and your family. God help everyone, I hope we can all survive this.

I'm semi-retired but I do still gig and record from time to time. I've had all the wedding band gigs cancelled. I've lost a couple of festival gigs, and all other occasional session work has dried up.

I no longer teach; so when the music biz has shut down what I do that isn't concerned with my kids or my books is pretty perfunctory. The 82 year old mother looks to be vulnerable; but I suspect if she caught Covid19, it would either be browbeaten into submission, or she'd welcome it; depending on her mood. But getting her to adapt her behaviour to include social distancing isn't really going to work.

Some old folk would rather die than change, it appears. And trying to be stern with a 5ft 1in force of nature doesn't really work either: the trick is to try to anticipate her needs; but her whims are another matter.

The lunatics bulk-buying perishables irritate the hell out of me.
