These various sub groups in society have been unleashed... and emboldened. And have become a serious threat, as they are fanatical in nature and behavior. They are not just a social problem, but also a security issue.
What should have happened is, thousands of troops should have been deployed on Jan 6, sealed all the exits, and arrested every single person inside the Capitol building.
Of course they're emboldened! They stormed the Capitol and then walked right out again. The ones smart enough to wear masks and leave their cellphones outside mostly still haven't even been identified. Heck, half the people who weren't smart enough to even do that still haven't been identified or arrested. Of course they are feeling bold! Their champion is having statues of gold erected for him, and half the GOP are still bowing to him. What do you expect?
