I have mixed feelings on the voting record of the late Senator John McCain but I respect the man and his service. He was one of a very few voices that tried to restore civility and decorum to the Senate even when he himself was being attacked.

By law the AZ governor must appoint a Republican to replace him and I hope he selects Cindy McCain to fill the seat. As an educator she understands critical thinking. As an heiress she cannot be bought. As a businesswoman she understands leadership. As a philanthropist she has shown compassion. And as the wife of John McCain she knows much of how he did his job and who the players are in the game. She will carry on his legacy and perhaps in the process continue to try and bring integrity back to the Senate.

Ps. John McCain reportedly wants Barack Obama to give his eulogy. Last insult to Trump?

There's not much to respect about his political stances. I can respect the man, though.

If so, it's an insult the Vulgarian earned.

Really? Obama will give him a splendid eulogy, no doubt.

I hope it is televised. Prime time. With publicly noted maximum ratings and the most expensive commercial breaks. Standing ovations could be good too; as well as impassioned singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Just to give 45 something to go one better than, you know.

As noted on Twitter by Shannon Watts: "Donald Trump’s Instagram post about the death of John McCain features... wait for it... a photo of Donald Trump."

I remember Senator McCain's concession speech when he ran against Obama and lost. It was excellent. I certainly didn't agree with him on everything but he was a lot better than some of them. He most definitely had a big heart and will be missed. I wonder if his son has ever considered getting into politics, and what that would look like. Or has that already happened? Only heard about the man on "Meet the Press" this morning. My neighbor tells me he's African-American. That must've just never been on my radar screen or something. Not that I have any qualms about it, but just saying. Also, if Barack delivers the eulogy it better as heck be up on YouTube.
