Someone recently expressed hope that now that Iran has openly admitted the true reason for that disaster with the passenger airplane, this might be a sign that the end of the dominance of post-truth is nigh.
Not so fast, I say. Now, turns out both Iran and the US shared something in common in these dramatic times: their love for lies, and truth-twisting.
In Tehran, thousands of protesters are putting their lives on the line, once it transpired that the revolutionary guard had incidentally downed a Ukrainian plane, killing 176 people. Nice that they admitted it, right? Except, for days, they used to claim it was a technical error.
