Good bye, Ted, son of Rafael, don't let the door break your tailbone when it hits you in the ass on the way out.

On the other hand that basically means the American version of Marie Le Pen is a virtual shoe in for the GOP. Then again all he did was state overtly what the GOP hid behind masks and lopsidedly careened to the nomination and gave the Dems the election gift-wrapped. That's what you get for basing your entire platorm on appealing to the most base and vulgar instincts humanity has to offer: all it takes is one demagogue igniting the fuse and the whole thing goes boom.

Let the American Empire burn!

"gave the Dems the election gift-wrapped"

Maybe, but then the stakes are higher than they would otherwise be. Then again, it's about time we used the electoral college for what it was designed for.

It's curious to watch some making the argument that Trump is a disease that has killed the GOP from within.

The GOP killed itself, not Trump. He's a symptom, not the cause.

It was still a remarkable run.

Someone that socially awkward getting that many delegates - that hasn't happened since....Mitt Romney I guess...but Romneys dad wasn't in on the JFK assassination* - so what Cruz did was more impressive.

* If he comes out with another speech against Trump - I wouldn't doubt this being brought into question

I'm impressed that he gave such a scathing review of Trump as part of his dropping out.

He could have just said "oh well, I've had a good run" and thrown a big party. I get the impression that's what he did with Fiorina: They both knew they were doomed so they decided to pull a "vice president announcement" gig just to mess around in the limelight for a while longer.

But then he chose to use his remaining big-podium time to blast anger at the person who is pretty clearly going to be the GOP presidential candidate.
Isn't that a move tailor-made to end his own political career?

He chose to use his remaining big-podium time to prove that he's the weasel everyone thought he was.
