So The Mercatus, a right-wing think tank, has declared North Dakota -- which recently passed an incredibly restrictive anti-abortion law, one of the free-est of all the fifty states
Once again, we see that when right wing libertarians use the word "liberty," they're using their own extra-special definition of it. As Salon has pointed out reproductive freedom apparently isn't even entered into the calculations,
Women, you see, just don't count.

As someone who's resigned to living frugally for the rest of her life, I don't give a damn how much money you have, how big your house is, or whether or not you have a great back-yard pool. If that stuff had been important to me, I would have stuck with the corporate world. I don't need it.
What I give a damn about is whether or not I, my husband, and people like us have access to healthcare, to food, and to shelter.
That people like you keep framing this as "envy" offers less insight into people like us than it does into the way you measure others.
Not everyone is afflicted with affluenza.

I never expected to be doing as well as I am, so I give back. It's called Tikkun Olam, or repairing the world. Because I know that, 'there for the grace of G-d go I' as well as (hey it's Easter why not a little NT) "to whom much is given, much is required."
And as for my angst calming, I pray that my angst about those in need never calms. Because there will always be people who need help, and as long as I have a dollar in my pocket, someone who needs it more is getting part of it. That's how I roll.
