I got an email this afternoon telling me about this new Obama campaign tactic.

How is this ok in America today?

How is this not racist? What do you supposed would happen if Romney announced a “White Americans for Romney”?

He’d be crucified yet it’s perfectly acceptable for Obama?

Please explain to me why this is ok for a black president but no white in this country could ever do this?

Your OP was about the United States. If we're going to bring in racism among ethnicities then the Nazis pretty much showed that white people are savages incapable of running themselves if we're going to get into that kind of foolishness. Black people just kept slaves, they didn't outright plan the wholesale slaughter of an entire civilization for the sake of making their dicks bigger.

My OP was in response to another OP. It never mentioned the US at all. There has been racism throughout all cultures all throughout history. Too pick out one culture or time period as being better or worse is pretty much folly but this is getting way off track.

No. There's been no racism anywhere until the 17th Century. Prejudice hasn't always been the same at all times, it's evolved and mutated in tune with the institutions and ideologies of states.

(psst - a reply is not an OP) And even if so, you can't put up a post solely about racism in America and then turn around and throw other countries into the mix when people make valid points against you or others on the topic of the OP.

I think I see what's going on.

Classic tu quoque argument.

White Americans kept slaves.
Black Africans kept slaves as well.
Therefore this somehow nullifies the point that white Americans kept slaves and created a social divide between them and American blacks through it.
