Fellow talk_politics warriors, I have an announcement to make. You might ask yourself what this has to do with politics. Good question! I await your answers with great anticipation.

I got a job interview. 294 job applications. 1 job interview. Six months. That's the good news.

The bad news?

I'm turning in my lefty-liberal card and becoming an advocate for the Tea Party and other Hard Workers of this fine country. As far as I'm concerned, too many of you are lazy liberals who need to get a job and quick sucking off my tax dollars.

There's gonna be some changes around here.

Maybe you should wait until you get the job. I certainly hope you get it, even if it means you become a tea party nut, but in my experience an interview means nothing. I've had dozens in my year and a half of unemployment but all I have to show for it is one short lived offer that was rescinded before I even started (they decided not to hire anyone).

I have a damn job. That's why I am too tired to form a coherent string of thoughts.

I ain't on the dole, I just cashed in on my GI Bill bennies and went to school and got paid son. Contract compensation. Mercenary pay.

But it's for custom millwork and cabinetry. I've been lookin' for this kind of job for 6 years. It will not slip away. I will strangle it if I have to.

Maybe you need a different career field. I put up my resume on the usual job boards and I've had about 3-4 calls per day for the last month. Since I'm being picky, and I was out of town for 3 weeks, I've only had 4 interviews so far.
