The governor who takes pride in having executed more people than any other governor of modern times and who wanted to secede up until swine flu happened has come up with yet another brilliant idea. He now wants the USA to intervene yet again in another Mexican Civil War. More unfortunately this is approaching the 100-year anniversary of the last time we tried this shit. It didn't work under Woody Willy and in today's age of IEDs, Kalashkinovs making for abundant, cheap firepower, and cheap ability to buy fancier stuff from outside powers this is even less likely to work.

Seriously, this idea is nuts. Mexico doesn't hold onto Mexico very well, the USA would be in for Vietnam times ten here. Why's this guy the GOP frontrunner again?

Going to war with countries/groups you gave weapons too is a little frustrating in itself, but you can make a little sense of it - people can change their ways, you can change your mind, the seesaw went to far to the other side, etc.

Going to war with a country/group you are currently giving weapons to will be a little harder to defend. Super-realistic training op?

When you aren't particularly bright, you vote for anyone who sounds confident and speaks your language.

He screwed up on the last debate, that didn't sound very confident from him but what do I know.

Why?

It's a year of crazy, and his crazy sounds the best to many among those screaming that Obama is making America into a communist dictatorship with his evil, un-Biblical socialism (there was a letter to the editor in the Wichita Eagle the other day that said exactly that) while also screaming that budget troubles had better not touch their Medicare/social security.

2012 might well be remembered as the year everyone lost their shit.

I could see this kind of nonsense coming the moment he announced his intention to run.

Great Scott is this a weak slate of candidates. It's no wonder that whenever someone new enters it they take a tentative lead. Everyone hopes the new guy will be better than the rest, and then they open their mouths.

Great plan.

One poorly aimed round hits the wrong person and suddenly you have an international incident that could lead to an actual war. With Mexico of all places.

Because that's what the media wants you to think. Ron Paul has actually outperformed every other GOP candidate in every normal measurement, but the media can't let him be a frontrunner.

He doesn't have the institutional support though, which is a pity, because he's the best candidate in the field.

DAILY QUOTE:
"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"
