I've so far seen nothing to indicate that I should change my mind on this. No need to make the regulatory shift has been demonstrated. The math appears to work out to cost people more overall, so the need to saddle people with more fees as a result of this regulation has not been demonstrated. "Everyone else thinks you're wrong, even people normally on your side" doesn't say much about the facts on the ground - I tend to be further right economically than most here, and further left socially than most here, so I'm not going to find many allies overall.
Is there a cohesive, different argument not being presented that might sway me, or is the "you should be ashamed" case all that's left?
