No, I'm presenting them as things that are much more profitable at large scales, which is why there is so much consolidation. That wiki link was evidence that the principle is well-known, and provides a clear causative link. Your insistence that regulation leads to consolidation has no proof.

Besides, what industry do you think isn't "highly regulated"? Accounting? Education? Engineering?
