Depending on how far you go back....but you have a point. Nevertheless it did, even in the days of defrocked vicars and dodgy politicians private lives, have some redeeming features: in fact, even after Murdoch, it still retained vestigial remnants of investigative journalism.

All sacrificed now on the altar of Rupert's desperate attempts to corral the cable/satellite market.

Mind you, Rusbridger and The Observer is another story in defenestrating an ancient and much more noble Sunday Newspaper.
