I'd like to get more info on this one but it doesn't look good for Biden's staffers. Apparently a reporter (NOT Fox News, surprisingly) was kept in a closet during a fundraiser. Guards were placed to keep him from mingling.

It sounds like false imprisonment to me but I am no legal expert. Are these "hold rooms" common practice? Can someone help me shed some light on this subject?

While I doubt this will have direct consequences on Biden himself this strikes me as a potentially serious problem for his staff.

Personally I love hearing about Biden's mis-steps. Obama's far to controlled to make mistakes and it's always exciting to see someone at the top make an ass of themselves.

Since Biden didn't know it was happening, it hardly seems like he made an ass of himself.

But when Obama makes a glitch (57 states, omgzlolz) it's more precious because those missteps are so rare!

57 States = Sekrit Muslim, apparently.

Yet another non-issue blown out of proportion by right wing bloggers in the desperate hope of showing that 'leftists' are as bad as they are.

Kinda difficult since leftists blow everything out of proportion.

Yet another example of how rightists do a better job.

Sigh.......

Too bad nobody points out cases like the censorship of the Deep Water Horizon spill and its aftermath where it really is "Meet the New Boss Same as the Old Boss" and everybody likes to focus on trivialities. Even sadder that Left-Wingers rally 'round the flag as much as Right-Wingers do and claim to themselves that they do not do any such thing.

I mean, well........

It's like when in the Bush Administration it was pointed out that 1 out of every 5 people in the USA goes hungry and the response was pointing fingers by both sides, not dealing with the people actually going hungry.

I don't think the story details support false imprisonment. He was guarded so that he did not leave "un-escorted"... i.e. if he was free to leave, but not free to be in whatever room he wants, that's not false imprisonment.

Honestly, I think Biden is Obama's assassination insurance. It's better even than Dan Quayle.
