I like musical parodies.

When it comes to science, I have to ask why more info isn't set to music.

Now, think how the Bible may have looked, think how history would have turned out, if the Book of Psalms had contained these little gems.
Truly, they are inspired...

also,
The Galaxy Song, written by Monty python genius , Eric Idle

Perhaps kids in Kansas could learn to sing these - does anyone know of any songs that could be used to teach about geology, evolution and other contraversial subjects ?

I daresay that if the Bible started using Latin in the Book of Psalms, people would notice.......
From: [identity profile] underlankers.livejournal.com
That was a reference to the elements having names that end in -um, which is a Latin ending......
From: [identity profile] underlankers.livejournal.com
Of course scholars might be more than a little convinced by the Bible having a psalm that directly names elements like plutonium that were synthetically made..........

KJV? What are you talking about. There are people who think the bible was written in the New Word Revised Standard Edition, with the words of Jesus printed in red.

As that's a level of the stupid I've not yet encountered......

The fridge scene reminds me of this.

Also, this appears to be a serious question: Can you survive a nuclear explosion in a fridge? (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080601142544AAs9yvk)

The Word go God by Kathy Mar...

http://www.audiopuzzle.com/discovery/kathy-mar/my-favorite-sings/the-word-of-god/#overview

Lyrics...
"From desert cliff and mountaintop we trace the wide design,
Strike-slip fault and overthrust and syn and anticline. . .
We gaze upon creation where erosion makes it known,
And count the countless aeons in the banding of the stone.
Odd, long-vanished creatures and their tracks & shells are found;
Where truth has left its sketches on the slate below the ground.
The patient stone can speak, if we but listen when it talks.
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote the rocks.

There are those who name the stars, who watch the sky by night,
Seeking out the darkest place, to better see the light.
Long ago, when torture broke the remnant of his will,
Galileo recanted, but the Earth is moving still.
High above the mountaintops, where only distance bars,
The truth has left its footprints in the dust between the stars.
We may watch and study or may shudder and deny,
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote the sky.

By stem and root and branch we trace, by feather, fang and fur,
How the living things that are descend from things that were.
The moss, the kelp, the zebrafish, the very mice and flies,
These tiny, humble, wordless things---how shall they tell us lies?
We are kin to beasts; no other answer can we bring.
The truth has left its fingerprints on every living thing.
Remember, should you have to choose between them in the strife,
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote life.

And we who listen to the stars, or walk the dusty grade,
Or break the very atoms down to see how they are made,
Or study cells, or living things, seek truth with open hand.
The profoundest act of worship is to try to understand.
Deep in flower and in flesh, in star and soil and seed,
The truth has left its living word for anyone to read.
So turn and look where best you think the story is unfurled.
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote the world."

Dunno about musical parodies but I still remember resistor colour codes by the rather un-PC nmonic Bl*ck B*****ds Rape Only Young Girls But Virgins Go Without, hell that wasn't in the best of taste back in the mid 80's when I was taught it, but it did stick in as opposed to the other which I know of, yet cannot for the life of me even begin.

I learned it as...

"Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Virgins Go Without"

It was even my mother than taught me that (my family owned a small electronics assembly business specializing in small run PC Board assembly by hand)

"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"
