While I don't exactly disagree with anything you've written here, I still argue that there is a big difference in disposition during a time of war and crisis and during peace and prosperity, this is why I actually do think there is a difference in responsibility, which isn't at all the same as removing responsibility from the equation.

Also, for my own part, in regards to what you wrote: if I encounter someone of the unquestioning mindset, and the conversation presents itself, I will endeavor the attempt to burst the bubble in the hope that they too will be more wary of this kind of transferrence.

I am rather careful with my own statement on what I'd do and how I'd react in times of deep crisis, since these things have to be taken on a case to case basis, in that actual situation. I guess I'd say that my goal would be to try having the disposition you're claiming, but survival mechanisms are hard to predict, and we are only humans.
