You might wish to look at the objections that were raised against integrating women into combat units. This debate took place decades ago in Canada. Some issues relating to physical differences like upper body strength, don't apply, of course. One concern was that unit cohesion would suffer, that a unit of soldiers would not be as close and tight knit a team if one or more of them was considered different.
