Global climate change EXISTS. It is almost certainly caused by humans. And the long term effects are highly damaging to the human race, which includes my kid. So you'll excuse me for not being willing to tolerate much tom-foolery from deniers who will be the first to bleat "BUT WHAT ABOUT ME" when they're struck by a disaster, and demand their federal aid.
We have inherited this planet, either through deliberate divine choice, or by the luck of the draw, and we owe it to our children to make sure that it stays inhabitable.
