I apologize in advance that I'll make yet another weird post which is hardly directly related to politics as such, but then, you've already seen from me BS on [Poll #1609184]
I have a pattern of being on here a lot whenever I'm supposed to be writing a paper for a class. I'm on the US West Coast, usually online in the morning while waiting for my grandma to wake up.
Charts, graphs, and maps would be fun! Wish I had the time to make them.
Online forums don't take up much time for me but I do suffer pretty nasty insomnia so those horrible 3am wakeups lend themselves to a lot of commenting.
Otherwise, I only devote a little online time to reminding Republicans that they are people too - mean, selfish, greedy people.
Same here, I'll wake up an hour after going to bed for absolutely no reason and be up for a few hours because I can't go back to sleep, so I'm sure my post history is at all sorts of weird hours.
Not mine, Buckwheat, but I get what you're saying ;)
I come from small town Minnesota. Small towns are always hotbeds of corruption - the local mayor/city council could have been right out of Dukes of Hazzard for misappropriations of funds and such.
I guess city councils are pretty much the same any where....altho it seems like the worst are the more liberal one's, that is the ones where when the people leave their nob-sectarian positions run as democrats ;)
I won't take that as an insensitive racist statement..... My dad actually worked with the "real" Buckwheat, and brought him home one time to give me pointers for a screen test.
I'm normally on in the morning, between 7-9am Pacific (we don't have daylight saving here in AZ, so after November I'll be back to Mountain time.) Mostly due to work schedule. Mostly though, my commenting happens on the weekends, where I've got time to do more than just read the posts and actually engage in them.
I work 2 weeks in my home town, 2 on the sea coast. When I'm in my home town, I'm at the office at work days and I have enormous amounts of spare time online through the whole day. When I'm on the coast, I spend most of the day in the office but I'm a bit busier there. I go out almost every evening, and I'm not at home on most weekends. So I have quite a lot of time for online activities but not so regularly distributed throughout the week/month. Probably the best time for LJ and any other things online is at week days, through the whole day. Of course bear in mind that my time zone is EET which is 9 hours ahead of US Eastern time.
I have one personal rule when it comes to using LJ: I only do it at work. I can excuse it as an activity if I'm getting paid at the same time. At home, there is simply no excuse.
I'm in the US Eastern time zone like the majority here, although just barely as Central Time is less than an hours drive from here.
Typically I am on almost every morning for a few minutes before I head into work, then I will be on from work intermittently through the day depending on how busy the day is, some days it will be not more than 15 - 30 minutes in the course of the day, others it will be 3 - 4 hours. As a Software tester I often have to spend time setting up a test that will take a few hours to run and then sit there and twiddle my thumbs waiting for results, plus being management I have a bit of flexibility in my schedule.
When I get home at night and on weekends, I'll usually check LJ once at least but rarely spend much time on it.
Mostly though LJ is something I use to keep me entertained while I'm at work.
I've been on a lot because it's summer. Semester starts tomorrow and hence I'll be on a lot less because y'know, school actually requires time to be devoted to trying to do good in class.
I rarely get to be on line as much as I want to. I've literally refrained from posting shit up here because I'd probably not have time to answer comments. I try to be on a little every day, but sometimes I travel or do intense work and am off LJ for days or weeks even. It's a testimony to my geedom that I always miss the internet during these periods and LJ is kinda part of my life, not so much the communities, but I have a bunch of people on f-list that I care about and have gotten to know really well over the years and met irl many times etc etc.
I have periods of intense procrastination, then periods where i'm busy as hell doing trips and not getting online for days. You know how it is. Quite a rugged schedule really, but i have enough time for LJ'ing overall.
I forgot to tell my own stuff. I'm a flight-attendant trainer. I used to be a flight attendant myself and I didn't have much online time back then. Now I have lots of it. Mostly in the evening though, whenever I'm not out browsing the bars with my gang or doing kinky things at home with my hubby. :)
"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"

Over all I spend more time than I probably should, unless I have at least a mediocre book.
