Obama's - and everybody else's - ethnic ID

Race is no longer defined by "genealogical or anthropological" characteristics as illustrated in my article. Race is now a matter of "sociopolitical self-identification." The Bureau now allows an individual to classify him- or her- self by as many, and whatever, "sociopolitical self-identification" classification(s) appeals to the individual. You can be African-American today, change your mind and be Native-American tomorrow, add Asian the day following, and toss them all out the next day and classify yourself whatever you please the day after that.

I realize that this blog is from 2008, but I think the issue presented is still valid. In addition, someone had asked me on my post about Obama's birth certificate what I thought was the reason for keeping it a secret if the problem wasn't his citizenship. This article presents a plausible reason, in addition to the main argument about the law and racial policies. Basically, he wouldn't have gotten elected if people knew that he was actually an Arab-American (regardless of whether that bothers you personally or not).

If you have something else to say, like, which parts are the most idiotic, speak. But don't call people idiots.

I'll bite.

Why do you think the certificate would list him as Arab American?

Neither Obama, nor the vast (and, presumably, Jewish) cabal of Illuminati that rule the world, has ever attempted to keep anything about his birth certificate a secret.

No secret. Birth certificate has been presented. Legitimacy of Presidency clear to all but the terminally stupid. End of story (except in the cases of the aforementioned terminally stupid).

It was released by Hawaiian vital records department. Idiots bitched about it being a copy, informed people informed idiots about the fact that no vital record originals can be released outside the archives in any state of the US BY LAW. The thing you get is a so called certified copy, which is what was (du-du-duuun) RELEASED to the public.

idiots continued bitching, because it felt good. (or something)

QUESTIONS

Why did I click on that link and read any of that crazy?

OK questions (serious) :

1. [livejournal.com profile] gunslnger Are you going to start claiming to be black as the author suggests to get in on affirmative action smorgasbord? Or will you miss the gravy train and stay white?
2. Do you, like the author of the site you link to, draw a sharp racial distinction between African people who are Muslim and African people who are not calling only the latter group "African Negroes" ?

There are so many legitimate things to criticize Obama about. His citizenship is not one of those things.

That blog post was retarded in 2008 and retains that characteristic when repeated by you today. I question your critical thinking skills if you think that mindset and approach to the issues of race and ethnicity is valid.

Your premise that Obama's Birth Certificate is secret is false and your final conclusion that Obama is a Sekrit Arab(and Muslim of course) is Orly Taitz-level fail.

Btw the thumbs down turns out to have been a sign of approval ('He Shall Live') in ancient Rome, contrary to the popular meme. The confusion stems from a lost-in-translation incident involving a certain medieval French author who misinterpreted the gesture. The other way for the public to demand that the gladiator should live was to just applaud him loudly, or wave white handkerchiefs.

Basically, he wouldn't have gotten elected if people knew that he was actually an Arab-American

How the hell do people come up with the "Arabness" of Obama? Because his name sounds Arab-ish or what?

From the Demographics of Kenya (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya#Demographics):

Ethnic groups
Kikuyu 22%, Luhya 14%, Luo 13%, Kalenjin 12%, Kamba 11%, Kisii 6%, Meru 6%, other African 15%, non-African (Asian, European, and Arab) 1%.

KENYAN =/= ARAB. Got it?

Okay most people missed the question you were asking. Here's my take.

Until not so long ago, people didnt believe America would ever have an African American president. Now it has (i won't dig into the matter how black he is). Now you say America would never have a president of Arab origin. Frankly, i dont know what to expect any more. There may come a day when America could have a female president of African/Jewish/Arab/Chinese origin, who knows.

I think people are misunderstanding the premise of your post, and are unnecessarily focusing on the birther conspiracy, and for a reason. You should've formulated it as a hypothesis, instead of as a fact.

Correct approach:
"If Obama WERE a muslim, would he be voted into presidency?"

Now to THAT sort of question, I'd gladly try to answer. And my answer is, frankly, I doubt it.

he was elected as an American. If you're suggesting that he wouldn't have gotten elected had he walked around saying "I'm part Arab", the response is, "Of course not, there's too many racist idiots in the US for that" but it's irrelevant anyway.

"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"
