Re the post of ja_va.
The crisis cannot and should not be descrIbed out of touch with this week's topics.
Moreover, that was oversimplified.

The TRUE cause of crisis in 2008

It is clear that the current crisis grew on unlimited credit expansion. US mortgages market was full of subprimes. Private equity funds were buying back companies for billions USD with loans guaranteed by these very same companies. Hedge funds arbitraged everything that moves with such a shoulder, which one could find before in the FOREX salons. Even the U.S. government arranged wars of its pleasure to pump up the national debt into unimaginable dimensions.

But where did cheap loans come from? Who's to blame? Blame Greenspan, he's dropped interest to ZERO in between 2000 to 2003.

Why did Greenspan do it? To struggle the recession, which caused the fall of Enron and other companies that massaged their yearly reporting figures around 1990s.

Oh, why did the companies cheat? Their shareholders and boards,- all and everybody was telling them: "look at how the Internet companies do, they do well without any sales and profit! Give us more EPS, give us better forecasts! Boyout own shares! Fix the rate! And as soon as the Internet bubble blown up ...

So why Internet companies rocketed? Just because the whole economy stagnated, so the rates were cut and the money flowin ito venture capital funds... As soon as rates pulled up - so Internet companies fall down, and Enron follwed with a finishing touch of 9-11.

And why the rates were low in early 1990s? This attributes to the recession fight. It was a nasty long recession, but nothing helped.

Where did the recession come from? For the stock market collapsed, in addition all companies were financed thru junk bonds, which were intercepted by the raiders, and these bonds Michael Milken gave them, and money for those junk bonds were given by savings and loan associations, - those were nearly unregulated, so they did what they wanted to. And in general the investment market was booming.

Who made these bonds and savings and loan associations up? Ah, Milken? No, he just took advantage of the situation. It was Ronald Reagan, who deragulated the economy. Yes, even Paul Volcker, helped - the rates first blown to the sky, than put down beow the floor, thus the money river flooded.

Were Reagan and Volcker crazy? Nothing like this - they fought with the most severe stagflation. This stagflation happened due to the fact that the Arabs have entered the oil embargo and oil prices arised to fantastic heights (given that time).

Oh, why do the Arabs have done this embargo thing? They thus fought with Israel, which kicked their asses in 1967 and 1973.

So, it turns out, it's Israel who has all this mess stirred? Oh, you'd better blame British, who back in 1916 promised the Israelis to move to Palestine. Those British, you know. Israelis have not lived there for nearly twenty hundreed years and a half on top of it, but the Arabs have lived. Sometimes it's hard to avoid disagreements, when you do a double booking, you know.

Thus, all costs down, should Jews keep themselves in Israel... But they did not leave voluntary. It was the Roman emperor Hadrian in 132 year A.D. who kicked them out for staging a Bar Kochba revolt, and since that uprising, two millennia of diaspora is counted on.

Shit, why the Jews did not get along well with Adrian? Well, it's a matter of fact that this paedophil renamed Jerusalem after himself and added to the ruins of the Second Temple a statue of his young lover Antinous, whom he commanded to worship as a god. The best religious sentiments of the Jews he would tread on failed.

Me, oh, my... Why such amazing thing Adrian cracked out? Errr, he was feeling "blugly". That year he went to Egypt, taking Antonius with him - and Antinous drowned in the Nile. Adrian deified him pretty much and ordered his statues throughout the whole empire, even the constellation of the Eagle renamed in his honor. He was a Jew plucked anger people!

So, we have found the cause of the crisis. Antinous! The whole world is crumbling - and all because of one fag! Asshole, couldn't he swim more carefully!

What kind of parrot do you have? I love them. My father had an African Grey for three years.

None yet. But I like to think I'll have one day.

I know here in the states there are groups that look to match up parrots with new owners, because previous owners for whatever reasons weren't able to keep it. I don't know if that's an option where you live, but I hope you get one. They are incredible.

Here you just go to the jungle and you get one.

Or so the cliche says.

I don't think you understood that comment because it certainly wasn't meant as anything but a nice gesture or making conservation (because that phrase the standard goofy thing anyone will say in English when they see a parrot.) I have no idea why parrots would like crackers because anyone that has one know they will go insanely crazy for PEANUTS !

I thought I had explained to you before about the tags. Like, two times (or was it three?) I thought you had understood what I was saying. Again, if you didn't, I don't mind translating into Russian.

Here. Fixing it.

Uh's. I'm pretty sure it was a lack of derivatives regulation that caused the credit expansion, etc. XD

With you all the way up to the brits 'double booking' the Levant.

Oh , sure, that bit included as well - but the bit about the Romans ?
I think you will find that there was more to the Jewish revolt, the sacking of Herod's Temple and all that jazz than just a gay Roman Emperor!

"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"
