Which one, the principled or the economic argument? In the economic, they're not differentiated (most illegals pay taxes and never claim their returns, at least by some studies I've seen). In principle, probably not. While illegal status fosters a lot of the problems I cited, illegal status is, after all, controlled by the host society.
