I know a lot of people are upset with the idea of less censorship on Twitter, but if Reuters is correct it looks like it might happen. Twitter has allegedly agreed to Musk's offer to buy them out. They still have some escape hatches, but they're moving forward it seems. Musk believes that Twitter needs to become a private company to become a "genuine platform for free speech."

Elon Musk taking Twitter private in $44 billion deal

Question: who gets the 43 billion? Shareholders? Does that mean he is the only shareholder then? He takes it off the market?

And for all the little Trump losers that are celebrating this because they believe that Musk will give their fuhrer his Twitter handle back, just bear one thing in mind. A private corporation is not obligated to extend ”free speech“ on their platform to anyone. Not the shareholders of Twitter, nor the new owner, Musk.

And if Trump and the trumpkins all think the Trump is going to be able to spew whatever garbage he wants on Twitter, you all need to bear in mind that Musk has abolute veto power over any of it. So there.

Yes he's buying twitter outright and taking it private.

Whatever Musk is up to he is leading with the free speech angle, mentioning it a lot in recent tweets:

I rather think he is going to let trump back on, if only to stir up interest.

I wonder what this will mean from an accessibility point of view? Although, from a screen reader user's perspective it might not be bad at all, but I guess only time will tell. I for one, am finding the main Twitter website pretty accessible with my screen reader. The 2 3rd-party apps I used to access Twitter on the Mac seem to have gone by the wayside at least for now, and I haven't used Windows for awhile now so can't speak to the 3rd-party app I used on there. . Facebook only seems to be getting better at least for Apple's built-in screen reader on the Mac. As to the "wow" factor of Facebook...well, that depends on who you ask. And speaking of Apple, it seems things have only gotten better in the accessibility department.
