This should be interesting. It's not like those who live close to Mar-a-Lago don't have a 'few' dollars they are willing to spend to keep DJT from living at his club.
Mar-a-Lago neighbors to Trump: Spend your post-presidency elsewhere
"Next-door neighbors of Mar-a-Lago, President Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Fla., that he has called his Winter White House, have a message for the outgoing commander in chief: We don’t want you to be our neighbor. That message was formally delivered Tuesday morning in a demand letter delivered to the town of Palm Beach and also addressed to the U.S. Secret Service asserting that Trump lost his legal right to live at Mar-a-Lago because of an agreement he signed in the early 1990s when he converted the storied estate from his private residence to a private club. The legal maneuver could, at long last, force Palm Beach to publicly address whether Trump can make Mar-a-Lago his legal residence and home, as he has been expected to do, when he becomes an ex-president after the swearing-in of Joe Biden on Jan. 20."
The letter contains a 'nice' comment which appears to indicate that Trump can live in Palm Beach if he wishes - just not at Mar-a-Lago.
“Palm Beach has many lovely estates for sale, and we are confident President Trump will find one which meets his needs.”
See, there are corp exec offices and privately owned, including small biz, that have a sleep space, and maybe a shower and clothes closet. If they can get away with it, Trump can say He works so much there, he practically needs to sleep there. Even if Trump doesn't lift a finger. I'm just guessing, but as long as those offices of exec sleeping space don't have a kitchen, more specifically a cooking appliance, they can get away with it. Though, somewhere, there may be as much as a full kitchen/cafeteria. If it's legal, I have no problem with it. If Palm Beach has a problem, they can change ordinance or state law, if necessary.
On the other hand, those offices with accommodations are not listed as the residence of the person(s) who may sleep there. Mar-a-Lago was a private residence when Trump bought it for himself but then he ran out of money needed to maintain and update the shack. So he had the 'brilliant' idea to make it a private social club and signed an agreement with the town that it would not be a full-time residence. Naturally, Trump seldom follows the rules, thinking his personal power gives him the right to do whatever he wishes whenever he wishes.
To vote in the past two elections, Trump signed voter registration papers that said Mar-a-Lago was his residence. Now, we will see how it plays out. The location of Mar-a-Lago has caused major traffic problems for Palm Beachers due to road and bridge closures when he has been at the club.
Ultimately ,if Trump signed an agreement that Mar-a-Lago will not serve as his residence, then the city of Palm Beach should enforce the agreement.
