If novels were included, I’d throw in Proxima by Stephen Baxter. It’s an interesting, often goofy sci-fi exploration of the question “what if cheap space travel was made available to earlier ... and earlier ... all the way back to ancient civilizations?” It’s also got some chilling bits of horror thrown in.
