I wonder about the story behind those three characters and how they are linked. I personally believe they are time-travelers. The guy on the left is the scientist who invented the technology and went crazy (obviously), the girl on the right started out as some kind of time-tourist but ended up surfing on a wave of greed and horror through the centuries, while the guy in the back tries to clean time-strings from multi-dimensional contaminations.
Or it could just be another usual day around Sofia.
