Surely there must be better ways.

The first couple were Benny Hill, then it just got darker.

It’s not inherently racist to call out bad stuff going on. It can sometimes be racist depending on the selectivity of the calling-out of bad stuff.

I don’t think I’m being racist in lamenting Aung San Suu Kyi’s fall from grace into her present state, or criticising that state and her decisions. I'm entirely comfortable in my criticisms of Robert Mugabwe. Or Benjamin Netanyahu for that matter.

And nor does it stop me from criticising Trump, BoJo, Uncle Vlad, Modi, the rather lunatic Brazilian chappie, or anyone else for that matter. My invective knows no barrier to colour, class, gender, sexuality, wealth, or fame. I am an equal-opportunity disparager; but I adhere to certain principles.

I know right, the three stooges competing to see who can kill more of their own people in ever-greater escalating galactic stupidity. If people have an excess of optimism in the idea of authority to justify its existence in a time of crisis, watching this shit is a cure all by itself.

The virus chose the most ironic time to hit, didn't it? The most populous countries of the world are currently ruled by ignorant assholes. I'm sure this is going to end well.

As well as 1914 did for that generation, no doubt. Except there there was a human enemy that clearly chose to display itself and dragged itself into the crisis the smarter ones in those societies knew was there (if unwilling to fully accept that and needing a second and much harder does of the same medicine). Beervirus isn't a war. There's no front lines, there's the sense of reality where a pandemic works the same results it did in the 1300s, and society is dragged along for the ride in a ship captained by a suicidal drunkard.

Now that you've mentioned Bolsonaro, I fear Brazil is the next major clusterfuck (after the US, that is).

He claims Brazilians never catch anything, and yet he has now caught it. Is he sure he is a Brazilian?

I’m not checking whether he has the requisite tan-line.

DAILY QUOTE:
"The NATO charter clearly says that any attack on a NATO member shall be treated, by all members, as an attack against all. So that means that, if we attack Greenland, we'll be obligated to go to war against ... ourselves! Gee, that's scary. You really don't want to go to war with the United States. They're insane!"
