So here it is, in black and white, John Bolton's book to be precise. This is precisely the testimony that the Republican senate does not want to hear. John Bolton absolutely must be allowed to testify after this news. He's said he would appear.

Not that this would matter to the Reps, right? Just wait and you'll hear whatever new bullshit defenses they'll be able to come up with, this time. Basically, as is typical lately, the rationale is: Because, fudge you.

Cue the Cultist defenders screaming about Bolton being a leftist plant and a liberal, and therefore lying about Trump.

Nope. None of this matters at this point. The GOP will twist this every which way. Day traders don't worry about how history will view them.

Witnesses means more trial. Not good if you're a Bernie or Warren fan, as it'll take them off the road for a few months.

Dems getting their witnesses also probably means Republicans get some too, which if we're putting stock into hypothetical bombshells could end up hurting Biden also.

So there's the choice for dems - they can go for it, but expect it to affect your top 3 (good news for Pete I suppose)?

Democrats are willing to purge their own ranks of bad apples. And they've done that more than once across the decades. They're willing to take that chance with the Bidens. Else, they wouldn't be insisting upon calling witnesses to testify in the first place.

I dont doubt dems would drop joe if it meant getting trump - but that may not be the question.

Would dems drop joe just for another chance at trump? We have no idea what Bolton will say, and if he does say everything the left hopes he will, it's still far from a guarantee itll damage trump at all.

The left is 0 for 1000 on bombshells - would you really want to sacrifice the frontrunner for another dud?

I don't really see it impacting Bernie and Warren. They would be perfectly capable of campaigning during the trial. It will require some different speeches, but that's easily doable.

So far, there isn't anything concrete against Biden. I expect if the GOP has something, they'd prefer to save it for another eight months or so. If it comes out now and blows up Biden's candidacy, again, this would be a win for the Democrats.

So, I don't really see the downside for the Democrats... other than it'll probably give Mr. Biden another opportunity to talk.

I dont think they have anything concrete either - if we start going after politicians who hook their family and friends up with sweet jobs, we probably wont have much of a government left.

If Ukraine got something in return that wasn't in our best interests - then it would be a problem - but that's on the right to prove.
