I mean there's truth to that. The May attack at least *was* a genuine Iranian attack on Norwegian ships, but I'm not keen on viewing the very different incident in the UAE ports as confirmation the June attack is real. It could well be that whatever outside forces intervened were launched by people who remembered the May attacks and attacked a Norwegian ship and the Japanese one was just....there.
Even if this particular thing isn't a coincidence, the MOs of the events are somewhat different, and the UAE attack was explicitly projectiles, not mines. Which, of course, are what the actual reports on the attack said were used, where the USA insisted it was mines....
