I tend to assume good faith. I don't have any problem with the stunt as it is - no one who isn't trying to be confused will be, I think.
One thing I really disliked about living in Munich, Germany was that supermarkets and restaurants tended to mostly Bavarian food, and it was hard to get as international flavours as I was used to in other countries. Why would anyone limit themselves if they didn't have to?
